Early Wollaston type goniometer (brass) with engraved
scale and vernier read-out with twin adjusting wheels,
raised on an inverted V-frame, on mahogany plinth base
(cut at edge). Diameter circle 11.2 cm. Stored in a plush-covered
ebonized base and glass dome.

Early Wollaston type goniometer (brass) with engraved
scale and vernier read-out with twin adjusting wheels,
raised on an inverted V-frame, on mahogany plinth base. Diameter circle 10.7 cm. Stored in a mahogany box (13.4 x 12.7 x 16.7 cm) that also serves as a support for the goniometer during measurements.
Signed on circle "Cary
London", ca. 1815. Also engraved on the circle: "DS & A GEO: LAB: 148".

and marked "M.R.H.N. 101". 1885.
A notice fixed inside the cabinet indicates that this
goniometer was bought by the Museum in July 1885, for
298.75 belgian franks, A.F. Renard beeing curator.
